Finding a Mediterranean - Italian restaurant in Bali is not easy, but Ona Canggu is here to serve you delectable cuisines. Located in Canggu area, Ona is easily accessible.  Its full address is at Subak Sari 13, Berawa, Canggu or you can click here for map. I went there for lunch and was intrigued by its clean white minimalist mediterranean inspired outdoor seating. The furniture is a mix of wood and rattan and there are a lot of plants that brings the summer mediterranean mood to the venue. Overall the restaurant has an open air concept which match Bali weather well. I think it is perfect for both lunch or dinner with friends or your significant other.

 Ona Canggu Menu and Food Review

Ona Canggu restaurant is helmed by Italian born Chef Daniele Taddeo. The menu in Ona is a mix of mediterranean - italian dishes and there are a lot of varieties from steak, to pasta, and seafood. While waiting for the food to arrive, I was served the amous bouche which is squid ink cracker with barramundi tartar. For the main course I ordered the 12 layers of lasagna. It is made of tomato ragout, béchamel, spinach, mozzarella, and basil pesto. It is vegetarian but you would be amazed by the taste and the freshness of the ingredients. It is definitely another level of comfort food. Love how each layer melts in mouth and the top part of the pasta has a bit of crust. The cheese is not too overpowering, it is a well rounded dish overall. 

For dessert, I chose the Eton Mess and I am very impressed by the presentation. The dish is made of sable, fermented raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, mint, chantily cream, and ice cream. You can taste the sweet sour flavour of the berries and the soft sweet meringue altogether. It is fresh and not heavy, a great choice to end your meal. It is a complex flavour in a plate. You can't really find a dessert this kind of delicious and pretty dessert in Bali easily. I also have to mention that the service is amazing, starting from the reservation process, serving the dishes, and until the end of my meal. The staff even also helped me to take my photo! Overall, this is a cozy restaurant with delectable food. I would like to recommend it to my friends and readers and I will be back again someday to try their other menu.
