brotherbird softserve and stateland cafe

I must say that the cafe scene in Singapore is growing rapidly at the moment. There are always new things to try during the weekend, from coffee shops to dessert cafe. This time around, I revisited Haji Lane area (haven't been there for quite some time) and found a cafe called Brother Bird which apparently is in the same building with Stateland Cafe.

Here are some of the food that we ordered. Since it is a new cafe, we decided to try the main menu as well as their famous mochi donut soft serve. The soft serve flavour is presented in rotational basis per week. During the last week of June, they have this roasted barley flavoured soft serve with a balanced sweetness which I totally love! They updated the flavour monthly on their facebook page, make sure to check it out before coming down. We really like their mochi donut which has crispy outer but is soft and chewy on the inside. It is topped with some crispies/almond crunch as well. We adore how the single flavoured ice cream feels so simple, heartwarming, and familiar (who doesn't know Barley drink in Singapore, right?)

We had their truffle fries on the side in a generous portion. Besides that, we also ordered their waffle fried chicken that comes with a free drink, no doubt I chose their cappuccino. Must say that they have pretty good coffee too! The fried chicken also comes in generous portion, really crispy, topped with korean style barbeque sauce. The set costs $18 which I think is a pretty good deal!
