My Favourite Coffee Shops in Jakarta | Must Try
Central Jakarta
Common Grounds Coffee Menteng
One of the purveyor of third wave coffee shops in Jakarta, Common Grounds opened its latest branch in Menteng area. They have a total of 10 branches located across Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya. This branch is located in a stand alone building with minimalist design. The interior is adorned with large windows and wooden furniture. They have various coffee selections from latte to manual brew served with their signature coffee beans. Furthermore, they also sell coffee beans for you to bring home. The food options are plenty, from brunch to mains, freshly baked pastries, and dessert. You will be spoilt for choice.

Ombe Kofie Menteng
Started as a small coffee shop in Pluit, now Ombe has five branches in Jakarta. They are well known for their coffee and Onnbit toast. My favourite is their cream and strawberry jam toast. Furthermore, in this branch, they also serve main dishes, cocktails, and beer from Jubelof. Try their roast pork porchetta chimichurri or chicken pesto pasta for lunch or dinner. I love how they turned a residential house into a cafe with a mix of retro and mid-century modern design and a glasshouse concept at the back.
Juni Lounge Cikini
Cikini area is now starting to revive with many new establishments in the area. One of them is Juni Bar and Lounge located nearby the famous art centre Taman Ismail Marzuki. It is located on the third floor of a standalone building. It has a clean mediterranean style interior perfect for your day out. We ordered pesto pasta with salmon and fried dory rice. For drinks we had their ice latte and ice tea. They actually serve cocktails as well, but we didn't get to try it. So maybe next time!

Coffee Dia
A coffee shop with a distinctive picnic concept, Coffee Dia brings the beauty of sitting outdoor with loved ones. They serve coffee and other drinks as well as pastry selections. The outdoor space is quite spacious, with green grasses and bamboo plants. They open every day from 10 am to 6 pm. Besides their coffee, I also love their mini bento cake in Tiramisu flavour which is perfect for birthday or any celebration. Fancy a bigger portion? Yes you can order their whole cake size as well!
South Jakarta
Di Bawah Tangga Moiehaus
Ashta Mall is full of trendy coffee shops, but I bet this one will surprise you. Tucked inside a furniture store called Moiehaus, the coffee shop can't really be seen from the outside. Serving coffee to go in a quiet place, it is a nice place to chill if you want to work alone in a cafe or just avoiding the hustle bustle crowd.
Di Bawah Tangga Moiehaus location: Ashta District 8 Ground Floor
%Arabica Coffee
%Arabica is a coffee shop chain from Japan and they exist in many countries. In Jakarta, they currently have three branches located in Ashta, Central Park, and Grand Indonesia. You have to try their spanish latte, but if you prefer a less sweet and stronger option, opt for their cappuccino. I also recently went back there again and try their coffee ice cream which tastes so good!
Kisaku
A minimalist coffee shop with white interior and mini backyard garden, Kisaku is a place to be if you are looking for a coffee shop that is quieter and not so packed but still located around the Central Business District. They serve coffee and non coffee drinks as well as various finger food and pastries. On a side note, this coffee shop is also pet friendly, so you can bring your furry friends along.
Hitauchi Cafe
A new coffee shop tucked in South Jakarta area, Hitachi Cafe Pejaten brings the cozy home cafe feeling with its minimalist interior and comfortable seating. It also has an outdoor space for those who are looking for a fresh air. They serve various coffee and small pastries. I created Reels for Hitachi, you can check them out
here.
Hitauchi Cafe location: #30 Pejaten Barat Raya
North Jakarta
Oditty Coffee
A minimalist coffee shop in Gading Area, Oditty brings the third wave coffee experience to the North. We ordered their ice cappuccino and we think it is well bodied and has a great coffee to milk ratio. Their interior is dominated by grey, white, and black with exposed concrete, mirror, and great ambient lighting.
Scarlett's Cafe
A Korean Cafe concept that is backed by great food and coffee, Scarlett's Cafe is not to be missed. They started as an online bakery shop offering various sliced and whole cake. You can find their famous Tiramisu, cakes, as well as other bites like scones and macarons. I can say that they serve one of the best cakes in Jakarta. Definitely a must try! They are located in the newer side of Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area on the way to PIK 2. The interior and exterior is super lovely, it makes you feel like you're not in Jakarta. Well, it's definitely instagrammable as well.
Which one is your favourite?
So good vibes of this coffee place.

ReplyDeleteHi there, I hope you're having a lovely week so far!
ReplyDeleteGoing to a coffee is probably one of my favorite activities, I have to be honest and admit that I enjoy a bit more the idea of going to a coffee than to a restaurantes. Probably because coffees surround me with creative energy ;)
Scarletts Cafe + %Arabica + Coffee Dia look great! I wouldn't mind to try them all and if I can have a sweet piece as a side I'd be more than happy to stay there enjoying a book, working a bit or sketching ;)
