Universal Studios Singapore

Getting there

This is my second time visiting the Universal Studios Singapore and the first one was 14 years ago when they first opened. There are some changes happened over the years so I was excited to explore the park. Universal Studios Singapore is located in Sentosa island and to get there we took a monorail train from Vivo City Mall. The ticket can be bought by tapping the ez-link on entrance gate and you will alight at the Resort World Station. We went there during the year end holiday but apparently there wasn't too many people inside so we could roam the park and tried the rides without long queue. We bought the Universal Studios Singapore ticket online and just need to exchange it with the physical ticket in the ticket booth for entry. The day was quite gloomy and windy but it doesn't stop us to explore the park.

Hollywood Boulevard and New York

In the Hollywood Boulevard there are shops and cafes to dine in like the Mel's Drive In. You can also catch the Troll show. Walk to the right side and you'll find the New York area where you can take the Sesame Street ride and watch Lights, Camera, Action where they show special effect in movies. This is also where the character parade took place. You can have photo opt with the characters as well. Unlike Universal Studios Japan, they don't have The Minion Park here, but it says that it is under construction. So perhaps we can visit it in another year. At the moment they have a new Naruto: The Gallery Exhibition that will be available until 30th June 2024.

Sci-Fi City
This is most probably my most favourite section in the park. You can find numerous thrilling rides like the famous Battlestar Galactica rollercoaster as well as two Transformers ride. If you haven't tried the exhilarating rollercoaster, then you must! There are two types to choose from, The Human and The Cylon. There are also Transformers shop in the area and snacks corner.

Ancient Egypt and The Lost World

Step into 1920's ancient Egypt filled with gigantic statues and buildings. There are two rides here, The adventurous Revenge of the Mummy indoor rollercoaster and a more laid-back Treasure Hunter ride. There's a stall called Cairo Market and an area where there are mini exhibition display. Walk a bit further then you'll find The Lost World Area. The rides here are pretty interesting too especially The Canopy Flyer and Jurrasic Park Rapid Adventure. You can also watch Waterworlds in the area.

Far Far Away

Last but not least is the Far Far Away area where you can watch Shrek 4D adventure and Donkey Rides as well as taking the Enchanted Airways Rollercoaster, and the new Puss in Boots Rollercoaster. The Shrek 4D adventure is quite enjoyable with a lot of special effect throughout the movies. The This area will then loop you back into the first area of entrance. Don't forget to take photos in front of The Shrek Castle. Don't miss the photo opportunity with Shrek, Fiona, and Puss in Boots. This area is probably one of the most visited for visitors with children.
