Park Hotel Tokyo Review - A Luxury Stay in an Art Gallery Themed Hotel
Overview of the Hotel and Location
A luxury hotel in Tokyo with art pieces in every corner, Park Hotel Tokyo is a definition of a one of a kind experience in Japan. Perfect for art enthusiasts, design-savvy, and luxury traveller alike, the hotel art experience starts upon arriving at the hotel lobby until the room you reside in. It is a perfect combination of Japanese hospitality and elegance meets the contemporary art experience. The 4-star hotel is convenient located near the heart of Tokyo, a step away from the Shiodome (Oedo/Yurikamome line) and Shimbashi (JR Yamanote /Asakusa/Ginza/Keihin-Tohoku/Yokosuka line) Metro Station and is directly linked to the Shiodome Media Tower, making it an absolutely convenient hotel choice.
The Gallery
Upon arriving at the hotel lobby, you can find the exhibition. It is open for the public until. The exhibition in the lobby itself is refreshed two times a year as the season changes. In the morning, the sunlight embraces through the high ceiling giving a soft lighting to all the artworks displayed in the lobby. When the night falls, there is also digital art projected on the wall from floor to ceiling to complement the evening ambience. The art gallery room is located on the 31st floor and guests can expect to view mixed media artworks in this minimal space.
As mentioned before, the entire hotel floor is dedicated for art display pieces and when I say that, expect not less than that. As an art enthusiast, I really enjoy this experience of going through each floor to view and admire the artworks exhibited. Upon exiting the elevator, before going to your room, you will be greeted with art pieces in the lift corridor and on every turn. The showcased artwork is a combination of paintings, sculptures, and also digital art. The mix of artwork style is mind blowing with more than 50 artworks displayed. For me this overall experience really uplift my Tokyo hotel experience to the next level. Travel is not always about moving from one place from another, but is also about embracing and savouring the moment. The one of a kind concept that Park Hotel Tokyo has definitely makes my stay even more memorable.
In total there are 41 Artist Rooms in Park Hotel Tokyo and each of them is specially painted by selected artists. Upon entering my Artist Room King painted by Yuji Kanamaru with the title Birds and Animals in the City, I was totally mind blown with the overall art and its details. The L-shaped room is very spacious and is located on the 34th floor. The room size is 33 square metres and is considered much more spacious compared to the usual hotel in Tokyo. The room was recently completed in March 2024 and is created with impasto style depicting different animals and details of the buildings seen as I opened my curtain. The artwork is a tribute to Ito Jakuchu, a well known painter in the Edo period. The “A-Un”(Agyo and Ungyo)” symbolised by the mouths of the two guardian dogs is said to represent the beginning and the end of all things. As you go to the right from the “Agyou” guardian dogs, the twelve signs of the zodiac appear one after another, starting with the “Rat” and ending with the “Boar” before finally returning to the “Ungyou” guardian dogs. The colours are saturated but not too bright, giving a calm and serene feeling to the room. I really like how the artworks perfectly complement the dark brown coloured wooden furniture in the room. I am so glad that the style of this artwork totally matches my style overall, something that is unique, colourful, but not too bright at the same time. An additional note, aside from the Artist Room King, they also have the Artist Room Single and Artist Room Queen.
The bathroom is spacious compared to typical hotel rooms in Japan. There is a bathtub for relaxation and bath amenities provided by Thann. Guests can also expect to have other amenities like toothbrush, brush, cotton pad, and others to name a few. The wardrobe is spacious for me to hang my clothes and there are also slippers provided. The mini coffee corner is filled with high quality drip coffee and tea as well as the electric kettle. There is TV on the desk with several drawers to keep your things neat. The warm lighting also gives a comfortable ambience. The room view overlooks the Shiodome station and a beautiful row of buildings nearby. While people are trying to have a bird eye view from a tourist spot, I am so glad to have it in the comfort of my hotel room.
The Facilities and Food Selection
For breakfast they serve a selection of menu items that you can order on top of the buffet selection readily available. I chose the scramble egg made from free range eggs and also had several food items from the buffet. There are both western and asian food in the buffet selection, making it a breeze selection for breakfast. As someone who always loves pastries for breakfast, their baked goods selections are sufficient and glistening fresh from the oven. They also serve drinks like coffee, tea, juices in the buffet. Overall the food menu is carefully selected and made with fresh ingredients, unlike the typical buffet you found. It is a definition of quality over quantity. During breakfast, guests can opt to sit by the window for a beautiful view overlooking the Hamarikyu Gardens just opposite. On selected days, there is also a Japanese tea ceremony which guests can participate in.
For facilities, aside from the art gallery, they have an Executive Museum Lounge for in-house guests where they can sit and order free soft drinks and coffee (free of charge) and wine selections (¥1000). This has to be one of the highlights of the trip, enjoying wine with an unmatched view of the Tokyo Tower at night. They also have a massage and spa boutique with Thann product selections for guests who are looking for relaxation. I guess they provide the all in one hotel experience that you can enjoy in Japan. Not to mention the check in process is brisk and all staff are very warm and welcoming. From the moment I check in, during my stay, until the moment I check out, the overall service is top notch and I will rate it like a 5-star hotel experience.
Overall, I would recommend Park Hotel Tokyo if you are looking for a one of a kind luxury experience with an art gallery at your hotel doorstep. The room, view, service, and location, making it a lovely choice as your next hotel in Tokyo. Click

This looks like an amazing place to stay. I love the original artworks.
