first hostel staying experience at COO Bistro & Boutique hostel

first hostel staying experience at COO Bistro & Boutique hostel

Acclaimed as the first sociatel in Singapore, COO bistro and boutique hostel aim to bring people together through good food and good stay. Singapore is indeed a busy city, and what’s best than a convenient and affordable place to stay that helps you to explore the city. Located in Tiong Bahru area, the local boutique hostel is just 3 stops away from Tiong Bahru MRT that enables you to explore this local neighbourhood at your own pace. This newly opened design hostel also has such nice interior and interior design that looks modern and hip. Totally instagrammable!

I was exploring Singapore last long weekend, and indeed I only had 3 days to find new things in the city. So I would love to stay in the city center and try something new. This is my first hostel experience, therefore I had a lot of questions in my mind. Will the room be clean? Will my room mate be great? Will I be able to sleep well? and so many more. Well, apparently, COO exceeds my expectation! Aside from its affordable price, staying at COO is so convenient and simple. The room and the bathroom is clean. The lobby is well designed, and they also serves breakfast.

Upon checking in, they will give you a band along with your towel and little pamphlet to help you around. This band/bracelet is used as a key access to the hostel as well as to your room. My room is a mixed dorm with 6 beds. Inside the room, you’ll get a bed space for you as well as your personal locker with all of your belongings, led lamp, as well as comfortable linen and pillow. If you bring a suitcase, you can put it under your bed.

A great thing is that the room has an attached bathroom with separate toilet/shower, which I love, because I don’t really like roaming around in the corridor late at night just to go to the bathroom. They also provide you with soap and shampoo, and dental kit upon request, as well as hair dyer on the wash basin. Their rain shower is also equipped with warm water, so shiok!

Then you’ll ask, why is the place called sociatel ? Well we know, that one of the thing we look forward during travelling is to meet new likeminded people. They develop an app that will connect the guests that stay in the hostel through COO Connect. You can simply login and view the people whose stay overlaps with yours. Then you can start swapping notes, planning excursions, or go exploring the city together. How cool is that! If you don’t stay at COO, you still can visit the place for brunch, lunch, or simple gathering since they have a bistro at the ground floor. Find some western delicacies like pasta, burger, or finger food.

In general, their reception is 24/7 so you don’t need to worry when you have a midnight flight. There is also washer/dryer on site with an additional fee. Best of all, they give you free wifi access, free breakfast, and free bike rental! Well if you asked how much is the fee per night? I got mine at SGD 33. Such a very good deal right? It is totally a perfect accommodation for a solo traveller like me!

  9. This has to be the most stylish hostel I've ever seen! The silvery interior is so futuristic :) I like that the bunk beds have curtains and their own lamp too, its a lot more private than hostels I've stayed at.

  10. Actually this is my very first time knowing about sociatel #pardonmyknowledge :) However, that sociatel looks so modern with a touch of funky mood, all the neon lights everything, most of all, the fee per night though, SGD 33! Such a nice deal!
