The Great Madras Hotel Review

I always love finding unique boutique hotel and my recent discovery was The Great Madras Hotel. Located in the familiar Bugis-Little India precinct, this quaint hotel is located 15 minuted from the famous Orchard Road. Quite convenient, eh? Read more to see my complete review of this boutique hotel in Singapore.

Hotel Location

The Great Madras Hotel Singapore is conveniently located behind the new Rochor Downtown Line MRT. With Wes Anderson vibes the moment you stepped in, there's no reason to not fall in love with the facade design. The lobby is decorated with floral wallpaper and an open air dining area. In the middle of the building is the elevator and a little barber shop where you can have your haircut. Upon walking to the back area, you can find a coin operated washing machine / dryer if you need to wash your clothes. It also has a quiet reading nook with retro style chairs and sofas. The property itself actually has both hostel and hotel rooms. You can choose the dormitory bed, deluxe room with shared bathroom, or the hotel room with ensuite bathroom.

The Great Madras Review: room

The check in was a breeze and I immediately ushered to our room which is The Good Room in the second floor. The superior room can be occupied by two person and is equipped with an ensuite bathroom and sink. The sink itself is placed nearby your bed, an easy way to freshen yourself up in the morning. The bathroom itself is equipped with rain shower and has gorgeous pastel coloured tiles. There was a little vintage style sofa in the corner of the room and a window facing the pool. Room was moderately lit and the vintage wallpaper stole my heart. Book a room at The Great Madras Hotel here

The Great Madras Review: amenities

The hotel is equipped with a swimming pool. It was not crowded the moment we stepped in, so we were happily swam around. I always love outdoor pool and this one is not an exception. The pool size is not so big but it is enough especially when there's nobody around except us! The hotel also provides breakfast in the morning or you can also have a various breakfast in the area. I personally think this hotel is one of the most Instagrammable hotel in Singapore! With moderate price in low season, this Singapore boutique hotel can be an alternative the next time you visited Singapore. Which part of the hotel is your favourite?
