30 Things To Do At Home

I believe most of us are having a stay at home time. Even though it may be challenging at times, but i hope we all understand that this is our civic duty. I try to compile 30 things to do at home that keeps me productive these days. Some of them help me to stay healthy, some help me to ponder, and some just help me to have fun at home! Check out the list below.

Learning and working at home

1. Oxford Said Business School is launching Leadership in Extraordinary Times segment, where there will be live segment, panel discussions, and commentary about social economic issues in this challenging period.

2. Learn new subjects online
Check out free online courses from social science, programming, to design. I'm currently doing a course on R language, as part of data science and programming. It's something new for me, but I guess that's where the challenges are.

3. Working at home? Check these working at home productivity tips that will get you through the day.

4. Level up your career planning by these career tips from Career Contessa. Because staying at home doesn't mean you can't work on your career development.

5. Level up your digital marketing knowledge and everything you need to know about the Internet of Things through this virtual conference by Social Media Week One. With more than 100 speakers over four weeks with the likes of Gary Vaynerchuk, Anthony Padilla, Raashi Rosenberger (Google), and many more.

6.Learn a new language for your next destination. Babbel is offering 1 month free for all language courses for student.

7. Love fashion? See how the luxury fashion and sustainability can come hand in hand with the course from the London College of Fashion and Kering.

8. Educate yourself about sustainability in a fun way and create a concrete action plan for your daily life.

Self Care

9. Even with all the crazy things happening outside, it is possible to have inner peace. Try Calm Application that provides guided meditation. It's simple and easy to follow. Spare 15 minutes of your morning and you're on your way to be present.

10. Deepen your asana practice at home with online classes. My favourite Bali yoga school The Yoga Barn is holding online live yoga practice and class is paid by donation, which is so generous of them.

11. Podcast is one of the easy ways to make yourself better everyday. Find different themes and stories that match your interest. I always listen to one whenever I'm getting ready in the morning, or sometimes while I'm cooking! My favourite podcasts include the Joe Rogan experience who always have various guests commenting on current news, The Minimalist which discusses how to live with less, Modern Love by WBUR and New York Times where you can get away with real love stories, and Mindvalley Podcast where I can learn about mindfulness and world's most powerful ideas.

12. Read the books you haven't got a time to read yet. Books that I have been reading in the past month include Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari, The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment by Eckhart Tolle, Happy Money by Ken Honda, Travel Writing by Lonely Planet, and The Art of Making Memories by Meik Wiking.

13. Watch Travel Movies that will inspire you to explore a new city after the pandemic is over. My favourite is Roman Holiday, The Darjeeling Limited, Lost in Translation, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

14. Create DIY project for skincare treatment at home. Light up your favourite aromatherapy candle while putting a face mask. Check out some face mask DIY ideas by world renowned hotel here.

Creativity at Home

15. Find home decor ideas in Pinterest and do a little room makeover just by replacing your carpet, cushion, or putting a new plant.

16. Cook new recipes that reminds you of vacation. For example, learn how to make pasta from my favourite chef Massimo Bottura (Chef Patron of Osteria Francescana) as he does live cooking and IGTV episodes called Kitchen Quarantine.

17. If you prefer baking, check out Christina Tosi Baking Club IGTV. She makes baking looks as easy as 123.

18. Cocktail lovers rejoice! William Grant and Sons are launching their first 1887 virtual bar to support the local bartending community in lieu to Singapore Circuit Breaker. Join the zoom meeting to see your favourite bartender prepares various themed cocktails weekly. Donate here by buying a cocktail ticket which you can redeem at the bar once the bar reopens.

19.  Spring clean your closet by using the Marie Kondo method. divide them into the wear, donate, and throw away pile. Also, who knows that folding clothes can be so convenient ? Say goodbye to messy drawers!

Things for fun

20. Shop for locally made products and get a gift card for your friends and find out how to support local business during closure.

21. Listen to classic stories with your children for free via audible.

22. Get a tarot reading online for fun or do a deep chakra cleansing through reiki.

23. Watch the opera you've been wanting to see, like the Marriage of Figaro or Don Giovanni,  at the comfort of your home.

24. Try painting or brush lettering to release your inner Van Gogh. This is my favourite watercolour class at the moment and I want to try this calligraphy lesson soon.

25. Don't forget to clean your phone folders and back up all of your files.

I'm wearing the Femme Luxe Faux Leather tank top (You can also check out their PU leggings here),  Duma pants, and Aeroculata necklace.

Travel Ideas

26. Make a list of your upcoming travel trips and destination. See my travel section for ideas.

27. Staying home with the kids?  Little Humans by Mindvalley is giving you free access to conscious parenting videos. From better communication with your children to having a good relationship with your kids will be discussed in this zoom presentation.

28. Explore Google Earth and click the I'm feeling lucky button. Learn interesting facts about the place and you are able to create a travelling route too.

29. Bookmark beautiful Hotels and Airbnb, so when you're able to travel, you are ready to go.

30.  Dream of the next beach getaway in Bali.

Hope all the activities will help you to go through the challenging time. We will get through this together! What's your favourite things to do at home ?

  3. You always have such good ideas in your posts! I am honestly constantly amazed at all the things you can now do from your home, your laptop and phone - the list seems to be never-ending! I agree now is the perfect time to take advantage of the free offers and use some of this time for self care and catching up. I have started learning Italian with the kids and would love to get into meditation - but don't seem to be able to get much time to myself around here!

  15. Thanks for all your recommendations at home! I've done many on the list since we have been in lockdown here for more than a month! But i love your proposals about listening to classics, this is definitely a good time to discover old stories.

Getting templates to practice with brushes and calligraphy is also the best idea, it also helps a lot to relax and calm our minds!

    All the best!
