bottega ristorante

Usually we kinda feel dissapointed while finding photogenic restaurant that serve food we can do better at home. Well, Tauruses only give compliment when it's really good though. We are so glad to find a quality restaurant again in the city!

Both of us agree that we had a very nice weekday dinner after work at Bottega Ristorante. This new restaurant is brought to you by the same creator of Wilshire. It has an European fusion dining concept with interior decorated by peacock patterned tile, hanging bulbs and glass windows with glimmering street lights. Nice and romantic i must say. We love the ambience, we sat indoor though we might try the outdoor section next time. They also have small bar, will be nice for after work drinks. Since it was weekday, so it was not very crowded, which we like.

We had terrible traffic jam from Sudirman to Kuningan like about 75mins on the busy Jakarta road. It was drizzling when we are in the area. My friend decided to park at Lotte, so we walked a bit towards the Menara Bank Danamon. When we reach, the rains has turned heavier, just forget about sitting outdoor as the wind was too strong. After all the hectic situation, we are glad that our effort is paid off with good food.

The dishes are great and are served on time. Here's the first dish, Duck Confit. The tender duck confit is accompanied with sauce and crispy chips and fresh veggies. i like how easy it was to cut, but it is not soggy, just perfect. I was surprise that their home made potato chips tastes so good!

My friend ordered the Lamb gyros with rice pilaf. The sauce is a combination of basil and herbs and topped with yogurt dressing, while the rice is cooked Mediterranean style (a bit dry not like the usual Indonesian rice). Kind of a north italian fare. The meat is so tender and well prepared as it has the balanced taste.

We wish that they have more Italian menu, like more variation of pasta? As i can't find my favourite agile olio there in the menu. They are more of like Italian American. They don't serve a complimentary antipasto basket (focaccia , breadstick with olive and butter, etc)

A little critic is that the waiter is quite hard to be called, although some are standing. At first we had the centre table, but then i was asked whether the sofa is available, then the waitress said it was not. But then, after some time, they allow us to move to the sofa. I mean how hard is it to give us the table sofa while there was no reservation? And i just wish that the waitress is more friendly, it's an upscale dining place after all.

  6. It sounds lovely but I hate it when its difficult to flag down the waiter, and I would be very upset without the inclusion of bread basket and pasta haha, I adore the setting though and those quirky lights xxx
