Carlton City Hotel Singapore Review

I love exploring Singapore neighbourhood cause it gives me the sense of what Singapore truly is. Don't get me wrong, the main tourist attraction like Orchard and Marina Bay is always great, but after a while, you might want to shift from the touristy places to somewhere that feels more local. I was so glad to find the Carlton City Hotel in one of the most iconic neighbourhood, Tanjong Pagar (in between Chinatown and Raffless CBD). The area is rapidly developing indeed since there are more and more branded hotels in the vicinity.

The Room

A thoughtfully designed, 386-room hotel is filled with a monochromatic gradient with a combination of wooden and steel elements in the furniture. The hotel is also equipped with swimming pool, gym, and meeting facilities. Several notable things in the room include ergonomic Herman Miller chair, 40" LED Tv, as well as free Handy phone to be used during the stay.

Impressed with their bathtub and rainshower with this peek-a-boo window. Not many deluxe hotel rooms offers a bathtub in Singapore. Aside from that, they also have ironing board I must say they have great value for money!

The interior

Designed by the reputed Hirsch Bedner Associates, Carlton City is the second property of the Carlton brand in Singapore. Environmentally friendly, Carlton City is a design hotel that prides itself on being the recipients of the coveted Green Mark Platinum Award, the highest rating for green buildings in Singapore. Even though they position themselves as a business hotel, I guess it is  palatial retreat in the heart of downtown too.
