The Okura Prestige Bangkok
The Okura Prestige Bangkok is one of the hotels in Asia that has caught my attention for quite some time. One of the reasons is because it houses one of Bangkok's Michelin Star restaurant, Elements. Another reason is because this luxury hotel is one of the building that holds a LEED Platinum rating which means they are an eco-friendly building. So who says enjoying luxury doesn't mean being sustainable?Prestige location
The Okura Prestige Bangkok is located in the award-winning Park Ventures Ecoplex building which is situated at the heart of the city’s Central Business District on Wireless Road, close to the embassies of the United Kingdom, United States and Japan. The hotel offers direct access to the city’s BTS SkyTrain network at Phloen Chit station and sits close to major shopping malls and commercial districts.Environment Credentials
The Park Ventures Ecoplex is the first mixed-use structure in Thailand to receive US Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum rating. This is the highest LEED rating awarded by the Council. The Park Ventures Ecoplex is designed in accordance with Council guidelines in five key areas: sustainable site; water efficiency; energy and atmosphere; materials and resources, and indoor environmental quality. The triple glazed windows, for example, insulate effectively against sound and heat, thus reducing substantially the demands upon the building’s air conditioning systems. The Okura Prestige Bangkok also operates energy-saving measures to further reduce the building’s carbon footprint.Accommodation
All 240 rooms and suites offer impressive views across the dynamic Bangkok skyline through the triple-glazed e-coated panoramic windows. The rooms combine comfort and luxury with the very latest technological developments designed to impress business and leisure travellers - from environmentally-friendly bathroom amenities to digital bedside control panels and flat-screen internet - enabled TVs. Club Level rooms offer an exclusive level of privacy with bespoke services available at the Okura Club Lounge. The room types in The Okura Prestige Bangkok includes Deluxe, Deluxe Corner, Okura Club, Premier Club, Prestige Club, Deluxe Suite, Prestige Suite, Presidential Suite, Royal Suite, and Imperial Suite.Dining and Leisure
Guests love the fine dining choices at three outstanding restaurants: Yamazato, Elements, and Up and Above.Yamazato, designated a Michelin Plate restaurant in the Thailand edition of the famous French dining guidebook, is the definitive traditional Japanese restaurant where the quality of each dish is matched only by the attention to detail in the preparation and presentation. Yamazato is open for Japanese set breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Elements offers new generation lifestyle dining in which East meets West with consummate ease. The Michelin-starred restaurant, located on the hotel's 25th floor, presents delectable French cuisine prepared with Japanese influences in a relaxed and informal atmosphere characterized by an open kitchen. The outdoor terrace is the ideal location for pre-dinner aperitifs and post-dinner digestifs and is also a pleasant spot in which to relax during Bangkok's cooler winter months.
Up and Above is an all day dining venue serving international breakfast, buffet lunch and à la carte choices for dinner. The traditional Sunday brunch combines popular Asian and Western dishes with some dishes cooked à la minute.
Up and Above Bar presents Okura Afternoon Delight with a combination of western and Japanese sweet and savoury items and a choice of coffee, tea and sake. The half-moon terrace is a popular setting at any time of day. The bar is a perfect location for an aperitif and digestif.
La Pâtisserie, located on the ground floor of the Park Ventures Ecoplex, is stocked with sweet and savoury items baked daily by chefs at The Okura Prestige Bangkok. La Pâtisserie offers a teasing combination of classic croissants, savouries, cakes, mouth-watering pralines, an amazing range of macaroons, sandwich and traditional Japanese maki.

I love the look of this hotel. What amazing views from those windows. I've been to Bangkok but not for 15 years or so. I would love to go back, it's such an amazing place with so much to do! xo

What a beautiful hotel! I love that view and the open-air dining on the top and I love that infinity pool. I stayed in a hotel in Long Beach, California U.S.A. that had a similar room layout and a beautiful view and I would stay there again at twice the price. I didn't visit the spa or eat at any of the restaurants, so I can't say whether those are anything like Okura Prestige Bangkok, but if I ever do visit Bangkok (and would love to), I'll definitely be looking at staying (or at least eating) here.
