Books to Read - May Favourites
Hello everyone! this is my first time writing about book review to be honest. It's just something new in this site, but I hope it will help you through your stay at home days or for the weekends. In general I love non-fiction books, something that is related to personal growth, sociology / human behaviour, and travel stories. I will try to keep it sweet and short and you can read the books later on your own. Check out below on my book to read recommendations this month.1. Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari
This literature explains about the human development starting from the stone age until now. The book fascinates me as I can see how human reacts or behaves a certain way. I have always wondered why some of us love travelling so much or even living as nomads, from one country to another. It is in fact appears that human is actually born to live in different places from time to time as seen in the era of the hunters gatherers. There are many more interesting human psychology and way of thoughts that you can learn through this books.2. The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
I got this book from a friend for a birthday present. I feel it is a basis that connects all of the personal/spiritual books that I read. Personally I think the Power of Now is a really good reading especially in this time of uncertainty. It has a questions and answers method that discusses the philosophy of living in the present moment. It will make you less worry, less anxious, and truly emerge in the beauty of all the little things happening in your life right now.3. Happy Money by Ken Honda
Ever wondered why some people seem to have everything they want and some people can't even save their monthly wages well? I first heard about Ken Honda through a webinar. He is known as the money guru from Japan and has been sharing a lot of money EQ or money wisdom through numerous books. The Happy Money teaches you about Money EQ and money mindset about the material possession that you have. It's not about money IQ which is investment or financing options, but I find that the money EQ is equally important. For me it's one of the best personal growth books.4. The Monk of Mokha by Dave Eggers
I have always love a travel book, but this biography book tells a travel story from a whole lot of different angle. The book tells about an American who is a Yemen descendant. He decided to go back to Yemen to pursue his dreams of coffee reading, but alas he was trapped in the country due to a war. I love how Eggers describes each places, each experience, and the people in detail. It's like an immersive journey of looking at someone's life.5. The Art of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
If there's a book that has a huge impact on my life, this is it. I know a lot of you have seen the netflix documentary, but believe me the book gives you a more detailed approach to the art of tidying up. It teaches you not only about organising your things, but also living in a more minimalist way and avoid buying things you don't actually need. The book shows you that every material possessions that you have sold sparks joy. If not, it is better to let them go or donate it to someone else that needs it more than you do.Do you have any favourite books at the moment? Share them in the comment section below.

Right now I am reading Joan Didion and Agatha Christie, both great writers!

Sapiens has been on my to-read book pile for a while now. I actually lean toward fiction usually, at the moment I am reading Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng.

The only one of those that I have heard about is the one by Marie Kondo, but I have not read it. I am actually a lot more into reading fanfiction than regular fiction at the moment.
