Food in Osaka to Try

Continuing my Japan travel series, I would love to introduce several restaurants and food in Osaka to try. The Dotonbori area in Osaka is well known for its food varieties and street food snacks. To explore Osaka, don't forget to get the Kyoto-Osaka Sightseeing Pass that gives you unlimited rides on Keihan Rail line (where all the landmarks are located), discount on certain attractions and other privileges. Read more below to find my recommendations.

T&A Curry House

Located in Dotonbori area, this little curry house is a bit hidden among the rows of shophouses and restaurants. The building is not so big, so you have to look at the sign. There are only about 12 seats inside. You sit by the counter and order the menu. I had the shrimp curry rice. All I can say that it was heavenly! It is affordable as well and comes in good portion. I totally enjoyed my lunch and dare say that this is one of the best curry I've ever tasted.

Eggs n Things

This Hawaiian theme cafe is a unique spot for brunch or lunch. Located near Amerikamura, the restaurants serve different types of western dishes. I had brunch here before visiting the Universal Studios Japan. I tried their crepe with potatoes and ham and I really love it. It comes in quite a big portion, so I took my time to finish it. I also had ice milk coffee to accompany my brunch. I always love an outdoor seating and I'm so glad that they have one. Really love the ambience as I enjoy my brunch accompanied by breezy wind.

Dotonbori Konamon Takoyaki

Also located in Dotonbori area, this Takoyaki is one of the most famous food in Osaka to try. The shop has a giant octopus in front of it so you can't miss it. As the name suggests, the shop sells takoyaki (squid snacks). If you want something more fun, you can also participate in the Takoyaki making activity and learn more about takayuki in the Takoyaki museum in the same building.

Lilo Coffee

I have always loved to try coffee shops in different city. In Osaka, Ligo Coffee is one of the famous coffee shops. Tucked in a small lane, this coffee shop has a very nice facade. Just like any other coffee shops, you can try different espresso based drinks or try their manual brew. Aside from having coffee on the spot, you can also bring home their coffee beans and coffee making equipments.

Kuromon Market

Most probably one of my favourite things to do in Osaka, Kuromon Market offers various food to try in Osaka. From fresh seafood, to street snacks, and Japanese sweets. You can check my full review here. The location is not so far from Namba and it is definitely a must visit. I suggest you to spare around three hours to navigate the entire market. Prepare your belly as you'll find so many interesting food to try. I just can't stop eating!

Have you ever been to Osaka? Any restaurants you would like to recommend?

I have told you before that one of my favorite parts about trips is to discover new food, when it comes to try new things I am mind opened and I like almost everything!

I love sweet stuff but that thing that looks like Okonomiyaki is fantastic, I think is similar right? Also with squid.... And I also willing to try that curry, looks pretty good!

And then of course the sweet stuff at Lilo Coffee for my dessert moment!
