The Simple Things

These days I've been rigorously working on my meditation and gratitude list in the midst of juggling between all the other things. I feel that we often overlook the small things in life that we should be grateful for, just because we are looking for the grand things to happen. The year of 2020 has been a huge year for personal growth. It's not about waiting for big things to pass, but it's more about appreciating every new day when you wake up.
"the simple things in life are free, the second best is the most expensive"

It's a wonderful feeling to just appreciate the beauty of a flower, splashing water, or just knowing it's the perfect weather. I mean, as cheesy as it sounds, it's true. I love simple things in life life hearing someone's laughter, the kettle boil as I'm making my morning coffee, or my phone beeping with ringtone I set specially for someone. I still love flicking through magazines and see different tones, even though everything is just a google away. Also, how pleasing it is to have ticks lined down my to do list and of course reading all of the comments you leave on my blog.

I also feel that different people look for the meaning of life in different ways and I feel it's okay to explore several new things. Within the social distancing period, I have also discover several new things about myself. I attended an astrology webinar just to find more about my synastry and birth chart. I honestly feel that it gives the term "written in the stars" a whole lot of different meaning. I feel it gives me a better clarity of who I am and sort of what I do best. Sometimes I asked myself wether I am in the "right path of life" and through many many many sessions of meditation, prayer, and many other things, today I am glad to find that I am in my current right path. On a side note, the term "the right path" is different for different people and you don't have to compare yourself to others just because the society told you so. After all, you are unique and truly one in a million. I hope today you too will give yourself a pat on the back just because you survive this year so far.

I hope this time spend in isolation leads me to looking though this new set of inspired eyes. Even when it's over I hope to remember that it's the small things in life that keeps us alive. What's the small things in life that you treasure today?

  21. This is such a cute neutral toned outfit! I love the skirt so much. It is so important to appreciate the little things in life especially during hard times like these. The big things in life don't come around often so it is so much more important to appreciate the everyday!

  28. This is a wonderful neutral styling. I love the white blouse and beige pants and sandals combo. I also like your thoughts. We all look for meaning in different ways and it is something that evolves the way we do. With time our search for meaning (hopefully) becomes more mature and internal.

  29. This post is so refreshing, specially in these chaotic year.

I have heard a lot of people telling that we should pass and cancel 2020, but you pointed out some important things: all this situation was a good opportunity to discover more about us and to understand than a pause won't be a drama, specially because nowadays everything seems to go faster and stronger, but to stop from time to time won't kill nobody right? :)

I congratulate you for taking the time to stop and re think in all these new possibilities, as you I like to admire even the most little details, such as a flower or a drop of water, that's magical and we tend to ignore all the beautiful (and sometimes free) things that surround us!

PS: This outfit is great, it gives me peace of mind!
