Grand Hyatt Bali Hotel Review

Grand Hyatt Bali Nusa Dua location and overview

Grand Hyatt Bali is a five star hotel in Nusa Dua area. In total they have around 636 rooms including 52 suites. The hotel opened its door in April 1991, and for 30 years have been one of the top tier hotel in the island. The design is inspired by Balinese water palace and it is actually located in between two ancient 400 years old Balinese temples. The hotel is located inside the Kawasan Wisata Nusa Dua compound which has the stretch of beach and several high end properties along the coastline. It is one of the hotel for relaxation and for the do-nothing-day. Since its location is kind of secluded, the hotel has many amenities and facilities to ensure the guests needs. From various restaurants to gym, and spa, I think you will note feel bored during your stay. On the other hand, I also feel that this hotel is like an eco system by itself with its lotus ponds, huge gardens, and all the animals you can find like small birds, heron, fish, and others.

Beachfront Idyllic Hotel

Before you scroll down to read the rest of this post, I must say that the hotel is indeed humongous. It takes a while to explore the entire ground and remembering your way back to your room. I personally love that it is a beach front hotel. I can get the private time while enjoying the sunrise or sunset and don't have to fight for a spot. I guess most of the luxury hotel in the island are like that, it is the location that you are paying for.  Unlike the Uluwatu area, Nusa Dua is blessed with white sand beaches and has calm waves most of the times. The beach is just several steps away from the main pool, therefore making it a very nice place for relaxing.

The Room

There are so many different room types in Grand Hyatt Bali, namely the Ocean view, Garden view, Club Access (Ocean or Garden), Club Access Deluxe, Grand Executive Suite, Club Executive Suite, Ambassador Suite, Presidential Suites, and Villas (Tamblingan, Beratan, Belibis). We had the Garden View Twin room which size is 49 sqm. The room is equipped with TV, mini bar and fridge, lounging sofa, table and chair, mini walk in closet and separate bathtub and shower. Every room has a private balcony and patio great for relaxing in the morning or afternoon. The room design is honestly a bit old, but perhaps it is what the resort wants it to be. The room is filled with wooden furnitures combined with marbles floor and bath tub. The room is clean and hygienic. Check in and check out process is quite fast, but there was a bit of queue at that time.

Facilities at Grand Hyatt Bali

First of all, I have to mention that I really love their pool. They have five swimming pools and also another private pool at the gym. I can say that it is one of the most complete hotel gym I have ever visited. The Bay Club, which is the name of the gym, has not only gym equipments but also steam room, sauna, and yoga studio. For those who are fond of tennis, you can try playing at their tennis court. After a long day, you may opt to have massage and treatment at the Kriya Spa. This family friendly hotel also have a Kids Club full of toys and different children activities daily. Another exciting thing is that they have shopping arcade, gift shop, and florist if you are feeling bored and want to shop but do not want to leave the hotel compound.

The Food

There are a total of 9 dining places in the vicinity, namely the Le Petit Chef, The Garden Cafe, Salsa Verde, Pasar Senggol, Watercourt, Nampu, Salsa Bar, Grand Club lounge, and Veranda Bar. We had the in-room dining service for the dinner as it was quite late. The location is quite secluded and we are quite tired and reluctant to go out to find restaurants. There were quite a crowd during breakfast time, but we are glad to find seat as we went there around 9 am after our swim and gym session.

Overall I really love my stay at the hotel. It is a great value for money remembering the location and the various different facilities offered. It is also a perfect hotel in Bali for families with kids. I would recommend it to my friends and readers and would definitely come back again next time!
